Role Overview
The Solution Architect will be responsible for leading and evolving the automation architecture and delivery within the Infrastructure Automation team. This role focuses on defining, implementing, and optimizing automated workflows, APIs, and blueprints that drive efficiency, scalability, and reliability across the enterprise infrastructure landscape. The architect will work closely with global stakeholders -including Product Managers, Lead Architects, and Service Delivery Managers - to ensure seamless integration, performance, and continuous improvement of automation capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
12+ years of experience in IT infrastructure architecture, with at least 5 years in automation architecture or development.
Exposure to large-scale enterprise environments and hybrid cloud architectures preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Define and align workflows, data models, and APIs for infrastructure automation services.
Design, implement, and test automation workflows and blueprints in a CI / CD-enabled DevOps environment.
Maintain and enhance existing automation solutions, particularly in vRealize Automation (vRA) and vRealize Orchestrator (vRO) .
Provide 3rd-level technical support and conduct deep-dive troubleshooting across the VMware VCF stack (vRA, vROps, NSX, vSAN, etc.).
Translate new business and technical requirements into practical, scalable automation solutions.
Identify improvement opportunities in automation processes in collaboration with Operations and Engineering teams.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Lead Architects, and global peers to align on architecture standards and delivery priorities.
Ensure seamless northbound API integrations with OSS / BSS systems such as ServiceNow or other integration layers.
Support continuous innovation by maintaining a strong understanding of infrastructure, automation, and DevOps trends.
Technical Skillset
Automation Expertise : Proven experience developing and maintaining automation workflows in VMware vRA / vRO environments.
VMware Stack Knowledge :
vRealize Operations (vROps) – monitoring, performance insights, and operational integration.
NSX – understanding of networking and security standards, with strong troubleshooting capabilities.
vSAN – knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting for virtual storage environments.
VCF (VMware Cloud Foundation) – awareness of architecture and product suite.
Integration and API Skills : Experience with REST APIs and integrating automation platforms with OSS / BSS systems like ServiceNow .
Data and Information Models : Understanding of data mapping, information architectures, and database structures.
DevOps / CI-CD : Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and version control tools (e.g., Git).
Scripting / Programming : Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript for automation and orchestration tasks.
Soft Skills
Self-driven, self-managed professional capable of operating independently from a remote setup.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to issue resolution.
Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
