About the role Explore the hidden world of B2B SaaS but at a B2C scale. Work with trillions of clickstream events, 10s of millions of users, and a few unassuming terabytes of data. As an Engineering Lead, you will scope and build high-quality integrations with third-party tools, data sources, and architect systems to handle our customer data's increasing scale and complexity. A superior product experience for our customers is the cornerstone of our success and you will play a massive role here. Additionally, your role will involve : Collaborating closely with fellow engineers, actively participating in peer code reviews, and championing high code standards. Authoring unit tests to ensure product stability / functionality. Write the technical documentation of the modules that you own and capture the known issues and solutions. Lead and mentor the Backend team, fostering their growth, and guiding them to reach their full potential. All while maintaining your hands-on involvement as a contributor.
Ideal fit is We're looking for someone who : Has a robust understanding and hands-on experience with server-side languages such as Python / Java. Approximately 5 to 7 years of software engineering experience, ideally within a startup environment, where you've successfully delivered top-notch products to end-users. Being able to understand & design REST APIs is critical to ensure any reasonably complex functionality within the product. Has experience managing large codebases and writing code that is scalable and maintainable. Expertise in working with data at scale. A demonstrated ability to balance speed, quality, and cost is crucial in our early-stage development. A deep understanding of best Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or similar. Capability to formulate High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) solutions for complex problem statements. Holds strong opinions but isn't rigidly bound to specific technologies; you're naturally curious and keen to step into unfamiliar territory; comfortable with learning new stacks and choosing the right tool for the job. Values quick deployment and iterative building. Not looking for a 10x engineer. We are okay if you are 1x but are good at what you do, a good human being & work well in a team.
