Location : Bangalore (Hybrid – 3 days in office)

Role Overview
As a Private Cloud Security Engineer , you will play a vital role in safeguarding our on-premise or privately hosted cloud environments. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring robust security controls across private infrastructure. Working closely with DevOps, Infrastructure, and Compliance teams, your efforts will ensure high availability, strong security posture, regulatory compliance, and incident readiness within controlled private environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Secure Architecture & Policy Development
- Design and enforce security architectures tailored to private cloud (on-premise, VMware, OpenStack, private Kubernetes clusters).
- Develop security policies, access controls, and segmentation strategies appropriate for private infrastructure.
- Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Manage user, service, and administrative access with least-privilege principles.
- Secure secrets, credentials, and integrate with enterprise identity systems.
- Infrastructure as Code & Automation
- Define and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Deploy security standards consistently across environments, driving automation and efficiency.
- Monitoring, Compliance & Incident Response
- Monitor private cloud environments using SIEM and logging tools for threats or breaches.
- Conduct audits, vulnerability assessments, and respond to incidents using documented processes.
- Align with regulatory and security frameworks such as ISO / IEC 27017, 27035, NIST, and other relevant controls.
- Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Work closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams to embed security into CI / CD and operations.
- Educate stakeholders on secure practices and develop runbooks, SOPs, and incident response playbooks.
Qualifications & Expertise
Experience : Minimum of 5 years in cloud security, network security, or similar roles, especially within private or hybrid cloud environments.Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).Certifications (preferred) :CISSP, CCSP, ISO / IEC 27017, or vendor-specific credentials.Technical Skills :Proficiency with private cloud technologies (e.g., VMware, OpenStack, private K8s).Hands-on with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible), SIEM / log tools, and vulnerability scanners.Strong competency in IAM, segmentation, encryption, and regulatory frameworks.Soft Skills :Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.Strong analytical thinking and incident response acuity.
