Role Title : Senior Quality Engineer I
Position Summary :

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Functional Quality Engineers to join our Business Process Validation (BPV) team. The team validates our new travel ecosystem and functions as intended allowing end-users to execute core business processes across the travel journey.
Candidates will work across multiple products & engineering teams to lead execution of complex end-to-end BPV test cases, drive test planning and scripting, and mentor junior testers. Ensure thorough validation of new functionality and contribute to process and documentation improvements.
Job Responsibilities :
Lead test planning and design for quarterly releases.
Develop, review, and modify test scripts and end-to-end flows.
Execute test cases across systems and personas, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
Document and report test activities, defects, and resolutions.
Mentor junior testers and support their development.
Collaborate with squad leaders and automation engineers to align on best practices.
Surface and resolve issues or gaps in test coverage.
Participate in training and process improvement initiatives.
Core Work Activities :
Test Preparation :
Lead and contribute to test planning, including defining scope, objectives, and coverage for quarterly releases.
Attend test planning meetings to understand release scope, objectives, and timelines.
Collaborate with team members to identify test requirements and coverage areas.
Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories to identify testable scenarios.
Clarify requirements with business analysts, product owners, or SMEs as needed.
Draft manual test cases and scripts based on requirements and expected user flows.
Ensure test cases cover both Guest and Associate experiences across relevant systems.
Review and update existing test cases to reflect new functionality or changes.
Identify and create necessary test data for executing test cases.
Ensure test data aligns with real-world scenarios and system requirements.
Validate access to required systems, environments, and tools (e.g., Browserstack, mod-headers).
Coordinate with environment management teams to ensure readiness for testing.
Maintain records of test plans, scripts, data, and environment setup.
Communicate readiness status and any blockers to squad leaders or senior team members.
Test Execution :
Design, develop, review, and modify test scripts and end-to-end flows to ensure comprehensive validation.
Execute complex test cases across systems and personas, identifying gaps and surfacing issues.
Maintain detailed records of test activities, defect submissions, and retesting outcomes.
Mentor junior testers, providing guidance on test planning, scripting, and execution.
Collaborate with squad leaders and automation engineers to align best practices and test coverage.
Participate in process improvement initiatives, documentation updates, and training sessions.
Apply hospitality industry knowledge to enhance test scenarios and coverage.
Skill and Experience :
4+ years in software testing or QA.
Experience with test planning, scripting, and execution.
Strong documentation, analytical, and mentoring skills.
Hospitality industry experience preferred.
Education and Certifications :
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
