Job description

Job Requirements

  • Perform static & dynamic pipe stress analysis using software such as CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, or similar.
  • Ability to evaluate / assess in- service high pressure / high temperature piping connected to Reactor, Heat exchanger, Air fin cooler, Tall process column, Fired heater, Hot pump, Centrifugal & Reciprocating compressor etc.
  • Evaluate piping systems for slug, PSV thrust, wind / seismic, and surge loading.
  • Evaluate Piping vibrational assessment as per EI- guidelines. Familiar with Modal analysis and FIT / FIV / AIV study / screening methodology.
  • Evaluate pipe support selection and design through hand calculation. Develop special pipe support drawing.
  • Create specification / data sheet & evaluate TBE for engineered supports like spring hanger, snubber, struts etc.
  • Perform flange leakage analysis in different methods. (Pressure equivalent, ASME BPVC Sec VIII Div. I, NC method).
  • Evaluate / Assess pressure vessel nozzle stress through Nozzle-Pro or equivalent tools.
  • Sound knowledge in applicable Piping / Pressure Vessel codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, B31.1, ASME Section VIII Div.1 & 2).
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation.
  • Competent in coordinating with senior engineers in various regions, cross functional disciplines like Project Engineering / Mechanical Design / Piping.
  • Working Knowledge on API 570, API 579, API 520, API 610, API 617, API 660, API 560 & API 661.

Work Experience

  • Able to lead Pipe Stress Analysis for multiple projects / programs across regions independently.
  • Working knowledge in piping material for downstream hydrocarbon plants. Familiar with piping & valve material specifications / classes. Working knowledge in MSS, NACE standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers.
  • Participate in design reviews and project meetings.
  • Conduct field visits to verify installation and resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with multiple technical disciplines, such as Process, Rotating Equipment, Materials, etc. in addition to depth of knowledge in Mechanical / Static Equipment.
  • Strong organizational, management, and technical judgment skills.
  • Good understanding of Project Life cycle and department interfaces.
  • Good understanding of Plant Operations priorities.
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and support client needs.
  • Multiple prior assignments that provide a variety of exposure to global oil & gas operations.
  • Other Qualification

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree from recognized university with minimum GPA 6.0 or above.
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, coordination, planning, and interface skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Willing and able to travel as required, both domestic and international.
  • Flexible to work in shifts.
  • Experience in live Plant Operations a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 - 9 years of experience in oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, LNG, or related industry.
