Overview of the Role :
The Communications Specialist will play a pivotal role in shaping how the organization tells its story—internally and externally. This is a cross-functional position that combines strategic thinking with hands-on creativity, ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of design, digital media, and impact-driven communication.
The role involves developing and executing a comprehensive marketing and communications (MarCom) plan that amplifies the Foundation's mission, programs, and partnerships. From crafting compelling visual and video content to managing social media calendars and coordinating with external vendors, the Communications Specialist will ensure brand consistency and audience engagement across platforms.
Areas of Responsibility :
- Design & Content Creation
- Develop clear, engaging and brand aligned copy for digital campaign, press release, social media, newsletters, blogs, and video scripts
- Ensure content is optimized for different platforms and audience.
- Social Media & Digital strategy
- Create and manage content calendars across platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
- Monitor trends and insights to develop content that increases engagement and reach.
- Campaign planning and Execution
- Plan, coordinate and execute multi-platform communication campaigns.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver impactful campaigns from concept to rollout
- Content Ideation :
- Generate fresh, creative content ideas for different platforms and formats(static, video, reels, stories, long forms etc.)
- Work with designers, videographers and other creatives to bring ideas to life.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Design, Marketing, journalism or related field4-6 years of experience in communications, social media or content creation role preferably in the development or education sectorProficiency in design tools (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva) and video editing software (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro)Strong writing and storytelling skills in English; multilingual ability is a plusExperience in managing vendors and multi-stakeholder projectsFamiliarity with NGO communications and donor reporting preferredAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentSkills Required
