YODA is dedicated to improving human-animal co-existence and addressing animal cruelty. The organization provides prompt medical services for abandoned and injured animals, offers behavioral rehabilitation for mentally disturbed animals, and shelters and rehabilitates homeless or elderly animals. YODA also focuses on vaccination and sterilization of stray dogs and cats to reduce the stray population and prevent diseases such as rabies. Additionally, YODA is committed to raising awareness and educating the public about animal welfare.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Veterinarian Surgeon located in Panaji. The Senior Veterinarian Surgeon will be responsible for diagnosing and treating medical conditions in animals, performing surgical procedures, supervising veterinary staff, and providing post-operative care. Other responsibilities include conducting medical examinations, developing treatment plans, and ensuring the implementation of vaccination and sterilization programs. The Senior Veterinarian Surgeon will also be involved in behavioral rehabilitation and work closely with other team members to enhance animal welfare.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in diagnosing and treating animal medical conditions
• Advanced surgical skills and experience in performing various procedures
• Ability to supervise and lead veterinary staff
• Competence in post-operative care and developing treatment plans
• Experience in animal behavioral rehabilitation
• Commitment to animal welfare and ethical treatment practices
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Veterinary degree (DVM or equivalent) from an accredited institution
