The Department of Mathematics forms the backbone of the B.Tech in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence program. With a team comprising IIT graduates, ISRO scientists, Ph.D. researchers, and leading industry professionals, NST’s mathematics faculty ensures that students master both theoretical and applied aspects of mathematics essential for engineering disciplines.
Role Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mathematics Instructor to teach and mentor B.Tech engineering students in core mathematical subjects that form the foundation of computing, artificial intelligence, and data-driven technologies.
This is a full-time, on-site academic position at our Pune and Sonipat campuses.
The role focuses on teaching excellence, student mentorship, curriculum innovation, and bridging the gap between mathematical theory and its engineering applications.
Key Responsibilities :
- Course Design & Delivery : Develop and deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and assessments across key undergraduate engineering mathematics subjects such as Calculus, Linear Algebra, Probability & Statistics, Discrete Mathematics, and Optimization.
- Student Mentorship : Guide and mentor B.Tech students in developing strong analytical reasoning, mathematical modeling, and problem-solving skills relevant to engineering and computer science.
- Application Integration : Conduct application-oriented sessions linking mathematical principles to AI, ML, Data Science, and Engineering use cases.
- Curriculum Development : Collaborate with faculty and industry experts to continuously update and modernize course content, aligning it with evolving technology trends.
- Research & Innovation : Encourage undergraduate research in applied mathematics, mathematical modeling, and interdisciplinary projects.
- Departmental Contribution : Support academic initiatives, faculty collaborations, and activities that enhance the overall quality and reputation of the Mathematics Department.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
Essential Qualifications :
Master’s (M.Sc. / M.Tech.) or Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related discipline.Minimum 5 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate (engineering / B.Tech) level.Expertise in Calculus, Linear Algebra, Probability, Discrete Mathematics, and Optimization.Proven ability to teach complex mathematical concepts to engineering students in an applied, engaging manner.Strong passion for teaching, mentorship, and curriculum enhancement.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience integrating mathematics with Computer Science, AI / ML, or Data Science applications.Familiarity with mathematical software and visualization tools (e.g., MATLAB, GeoGebra, Desmos, Python).Experience in curriculum design, academic research, or educational content development.Exposure to industry-academia collaboration or applied research initiatives.Perks and Benefits :
