Role Overview :
- The Network Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security protocols to protect the organization's network infrastructure. The role focuses on minimizing vulnerabilities, preventing cyberattacks, and ensuring adherence to cybersecurity policies and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Design and deploy advanced security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection / prevention systems (IDS / IPS)Configure and optimize security protocols across routers, switches, and other network devicesConduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify risks and recommend solutionsCollaborate with IT and business stakeholders to align cybersecurity measures with organizational objectivesLead incident response activities during security breaches or malware attacksPerform regular updates and patch management of systems and security applicationsMonitor network traffic to detect suspicious behavior or unauthorized access attemptsDevelop, document, and enforce cybersecurity policies and standard operating proceduresAnalyze data to support informed decision-making and mitigate risks effectivelyQualifications and Skills Required :
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field3–5 years of hands-on experience in network or information securityCertifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CEH, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CCNP Security) preferredProficiency in configuring firewalls, routers, and security protocolsFamiliarity with programming or scripting (e.g., Python, Shell)Experience with security tools like IDS / IPS, vulnerability scanners, and SIEM solutionsStrong problem-solving and analytical thinking skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder collaboration abilitiesSkills Required
