Role Purpose
To ensure smooth and accurate control of all raw materials, consumables, finished goods, and spares required in pole manufacturing. The role maintains correct stock levels, supports uninterrupted production, reduces wastage, and drives systematic documentation as per audit and ISO standards.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Material Control
- Maintain daily stock of cement, steel, aggregates, admixtures, galvanized materials, packaging, and spares.
- Monitor reorder levels and raise purchase indents on time.
- Prevent overstocking, stockouts, and material handling losses.
- Maintain batch-wise and heat number-wise tracking for steel and GI components.
Receiving & Issuing
Ensure GRN preparation with correct quantity and quality verification.Coordinate with QC to check materials before acceptance.Issue materials to production as per daily requirement slips.Track consumption per pole to support costing and wastage analysis.Documentation & Systems
Maintain ERP / Tally / SAP stock records accurately.Prepare Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Inventory Reports.Ensure compliance with audit requirements and store SOPs.Maintain bin cards, stack cards, and storage labels.Warehouse Management
Ensure proper storage, stacking, FIFO usage, and housekeeping.Optimize space utilization and ensure safe material handling.Conduct weekly and monthly physical stock checks.Maintain security of stores and supervise store team.Coordination
Work closely with Production, Purchase, Quality, and Dispatch teams.Support production planning with stock availability data.Ensure timely dispatch of finished poles to customers or project sites.Key Skills and Competencies
Strong knowledge of inventory management methods like FIFO.Familiarity with materials used in pole manufacturing.Good command in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.Ability to lead and discipline the store workforce.Strong documentation and audit preparedness.Qualification & Experience
Graduate or Diploma in Materials Management or related field.5+ years experience in stores role in manufacturing.Preference for candidates with prior experience in concrete / steel / pole / fabrication industries.Performance Indicators
