The GenAI Lead Engineer

is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving the design, development, and delivery of Generative AI–powered solutions. The role demands strong coding background along with technical expertise in AI / ML systems, LLM integration, and cloud-native engineering practices with strong leadership in guiding teams through execution. The Technical Lead ensures high-quality, scalable, and production-ready GenAI implementations aligned with business and product objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end design and development of GenAI applications and intelligent systems, from prototype to production.

Drive hands-on implementation using frameworks such as LangChain, Amazon Bedrock, and OpenAI models (GPT series, embeddings, fine-tuning, etc.).

Apply prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agent-based architectures to build robust, context-aware AI solutions.

Implement and enforce engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, observability, and security gates.

Ensure production readiness - covering monitoring, instrumentation, model evaluation, and performance optimization.

Collaborate with seniors and engineers to define system architecture, data pipelines, and integration patterns for GenAI workloads.

Guide and mentor engineers within the team; conduct code reviews and technical design sessions.

Partner with product managers and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, measurable technical deliverables.

Stay current with emerging trends in GenAI, LLM orchestration, and cloud AI services (preferably), bringing new ideas into practice.

Key Skills & Experience :

7–10 years of software engineering experience, including at least 1+ years in GenAI systems.

Proficiency in Python and practical experience working with OpenAI, Anthropic, or Bedrock APIs for LLM-based solution development.

Strong understanding of system design, and API integration.

Must have experience with modern DevOps practices (CI / CD, containerization, observability).

Good to have hands-on experience with one of the cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Exposure to vector databases, embedding models, and prompt optimization techniques.

Ability to lead a small team or pod of engineers, providing technical direction and mentorship.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
