Key Responsibilities
Technical Review & Specification Interpretation
- Interpret and review client specifications, technical standards, and international codes related to static equipment, piping systems, and steel structures.
Mechanical Design Calculations
Perform strength and design calculations for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and columns using COMPRESS and PV-Elite per ASME Section VIII Div. 1.Analyze self-supported stacks as per ASME STS-1, IS 6533, and CICIND standards, including wind load and lifting calculations.Structural & Support Design
Design supporting structures such as platforms, piping racks, modular skids, equipment foundations, and access structures using STAAD.Pro.Evaluate strength and stability of support elements in accordance with applicable codes.Piping Stress Analysis
Conduct piping stress analysis using CAESAR II following ASME B31.1 / B31.3, considering thermal expansion, vibration, seismic, wind, and support loads.Recommend design modifications and support placement to ensure system integrity.Detailed Engineering & Coordination
Collaborate with drafting / design teams to produce accurate GA drawings, fabrication details, and 3D models.Participate in 3D model reviews, providing input for layout optimization focusing on safety and maintainability.Cross-functional Engagement
Liaise with clients, internal stakeholders, inspection agencies, vendors, and procurement for technical clarifications.Review vendor documents to ensure alignment with design intent.Proposal & Estimation Support
Provide preliminary design inputs, scope definitions, and estimation data to support proposals and bids.Project Execution Support
Work closely with Lead Engineers or Project Managers to ensure on-time delivery of engineering packages.Contribute to technical risk assessments, design reviews, and value engineering.Skills Required
Mechanical Design Calculations, Piping Stress Analysis, Structural & Support Design, Proficiency in CAD software, Knowledge of International Codes
