Your key responsibilities
- Conduct interviews with prospective students as part of the Genuine Student (GS) assessment procedures, ensuring applicants meet UWA quality expectations and visa requirements.
- Provide support in the verification and authenticity checks of submitted GS documents, through emails and calls.
- Review applicants’ financial capacity and supporting documentation to determine their ability to fund their studies and living expenses in Australia.
- Ensure statements of purpose and applicant responses clearly demonstrate course fit, intent to study, and alignment with career goals.
- Evaluate each candidate’s immigration history and compliance with past visa conditions to identify any potential risks or reasons for refusal.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date assessment records to support decision-making and compliance reporting.
- Where required, expand GS checks to other countries and work in collaboration with local UWA agents to gain market knowledge, design GS policies and procedures documents.
- Monitor and report on emerging trends, risks, and patterns in student applications to enhance quality control and regulatory compliance.
- Undertake other duties as directed by the University and proactively engage with broader stakeholder groups, ensuring the UWA brand is promoted in the South Asia region.
Your specific work capabilities (selection criteria)
Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competencyExperience in working with Australian education providers and advising prospective students wanting to study overseas, and knowledge of Australian visa conditions and the ESOS ActComprehensive knowledge of the Australian higher education systems and qualification frameworks and the ability to use this knowledge to assess qualifications against university entry requirementsHighly developed organisational skills, attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet deadlinesAbility to work independently, show initiative and work productively as part of a teamHighly developed communication skills, which includes proficiency in a range of computing skills such as : word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet and emailApply online or share your CV with maria.husain@uwa.edu.au
