Job Description for Merchant Banker
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Guide and mentor corporate clients and startups, offering expertise in business model optimization, fundraising preparation, and go-to-market strategies.
- Oversee the origination, advisory, and execution of IPOs, ensuring regulatory readiness, investor communications, roadshows, and post-listing performance.
- Direct the creation of business plans, pitch decks, and detailed financial models to support client fundraising and investment decision-making processes.
- Lead enterprise valuation projects, applying diverse methodologies to support M&A transactions, fundraising, and exit planning for various client types.
- Supervise and evaluate credit opportunities, venture capital, and private equity investments, balancing risk and return profiles and overseeing due diligence processes.
- Structure and negotiate fundraising mandates for clients, managing the end-to-end process of deal syndication, investor roadshows, pricing, and closing.
- Advise on and facilitate mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
- Ensure compliance with all SEBI and other regulatory requirements governing merchant banking operations.
Required Qualifications & Experience
MBA (Finance), Chartered Accountant, or equivalent professional qualification.Minimum 5+ years of experience in a SEBI-registered merchant banking company.Proven track record in managing IPOs, M&A transactions, and fundraising mandates.Strong understanding of Indian capital markets, regulatory frameworks, and compliance norms.Hands-on experience in financial modeling, valuation, and transaction documentation.Core Skills & Attributes
