A Signage & Wayfinding Designer is a specialized professional responsible for creating

effective navigational & wayfinding design solutions that guide people through large,

complex environments, such as airports, hotels, hospitals, campuses, malls and public

areas & helping them to navigate more easily and efficiently & engaging seamlessly in a

built environment & thus enhancing the user experience.

Wayfinding combines many disciplines from behavioral psychology to architecture,

product design & graphic design.

Starting with good understanding & analysis of a built / open spaces, categorization of

users, different destinations, user circulation, decision making points, various sign types

and information architecture by creating graphic language - consisting of typography,

iconography, colors, patterns, symbols, maps, & other design elements along with material knowledge.
