Backup and Archiving Specialist

Your responsibilities

Summary: - Develop methods and strategies, perform storage and backup operations of the global organization. The daily operation, monitoring and improvement of the centralized Backup/Archiving (CommVault) Platform (delegation model) including support of dedicated services and teams for EntraID and M365 specific components, as well as the on-premises Backup Environments. Stakeholders within the organization including colleagues in the IT Infrastructure team; owners of application systems in IT and in business functions; managers of IT in various legal entities within the MX segment; and IT Leadership. Needs to work closely with providers of Cloud Data Center services to deliver business needs and achieve service goals

• Planning, provision, operation and further development of storage, backup and restoration operations for IT systems on various technology platforms in the data center, the Cloud and the decentralized locations.
• 2nd level Support in the Windows/Linux server environment (check, implement, process and record of incoming faults via ticket system, typically ServiceNow)
• Troubleshoot performance issues related to the backup and recovery environment and recommend solutions.
• Develop guidelines for the design of cooperation and demarcation between 1st and 2nd level support
• Analyze, define and visualize requirements in coordination with the requesters (from group companies).
• Creation and updating of the necessary documentation.
• Participation in global IT Infrastructure service delivery team of the organization.
  
  

Your profile

• Candidate should have 8-10 years of professional experience.
• In-depth knowledge of various technologies and tools being used for data storage, backup, and restoration like Veeam, Commvault, Veritas, Symantec Exec, Keepit.
• Good exposure to use of back-up and restoration technologies on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS like Azure Backup and AWS Backup.) and on-premise environments (VMware, Microsoft, Linux).
• Must know Backup strategy and must be efficient in planning the backup placement and capacity requirements.
• Implementation and handling of Backup Archive storage
• Experience in international projects is an added advantage.
• Ability to learn new technologies and adopt new tools and techniques to increase automation, performance and scalability.

• Bachelor's in engineering degree or equivalent
• The role requires working from the office at least two days per week.
