Software Engineer II (QA) [T500-17230]

Key Responsibilities :

Contribute to the delivery of complex solutions, breaking down big problems into smaller pieces

Actively participate in team planning activities

Ensure the quality and integrity of the SDLC for their team and identify opportunities for improvement in how the team works, through usage of recommended tools and practices.

Able to triage complex issues independently

Aware of the technology landscape, help to plan delivery of coarse-grained business needs spanning multiple applications

Set a consistent example of agile development practices and coach other engineers to work as a team with Product and Experience Design

Help new hires and junior engineers to improve their skills and be more effective

Contribute to and improve internal libraries and tools

Understand the business supported by your applications

Proactively communicate status and issues to their manager

Identify problems and risks of their own work and the work of others

Collaborate with other teams to find creative solutions to customer issues

Show a commitment to delivery deadlines, in particular seasonal and vendor partner deadlines that are critical to Best Buy’s continued success

Requirements :

4+ years of relevant professional experience with a bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience

Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester

Experience in QA methodology and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)

Experience with API testing tools. Postman is preferable

Experience with Agile framework

Experience with various testing techniques – system level testing, regression testing, smoke testing, mobile app testing and user acceptance testing

Ability to adapt testing techniques and strategies based on the requirements

Experience with test plan documentation and issue tracking

Proficient with writing and executing SQL queries to retrieve data from Relational / NoSQL databases

Excellent communication skills

Preferred

Experience working in an omni-channel retail environment

Experience with QA Automation testing frameworks such as Cucumber, Selenium

Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Groovy and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra

Understanding of Junit or Spock testing frameworks

Experience with Version control systems (GitHub is a plus)

Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (e.g., Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, GoogleCloud Platform)

Experience with API testing tool Postman
