As a Founding Backend Engineer at Cenna, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our cutting-edge agentic services platform. You will design, build, and deploy core backend infrastructure and services, driving the technical vision of our AI-powered products from inception to scale.
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop scalable backend systems and APIs for our agentic services platform in production environments
- Build robust, secure backend services that power platform functionality at scale
- Design and optimize database schemas and data pipelines for production workloads
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture and AI-driven solution standards
- Ensure reliability, performance, and security of production backend systems
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and promote engineering best practices
- Partner with product management to translate requirements into impactful production-ready solutions
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for production backend services
Requirements
5+ years of backend development experience with proven track record of building and maintaining production-level systemsExpertise in Python and backend frameworks like FastAPI, Django, or Flask deployed in production environmentsStrong understanding of secure coding practices and application security in production systemsExperience with SQL and NoSQL database design, optimization, and management at scaleDemonstrated experience designing, deploying, and operating backend services in productionProficiency in RESTful API design and implementation for production applicationsExperience with monitoring, debugging, and optimizing production backend systemsKnowledge of handling production incidents, system reliability, and performance optimizationExceptional problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot production issues under pressureStrong communication and teamwork abilitiesNice to Have
