Key Responsibilities

IT Strategy Development EAs develop longterm IT strategies that align with the overall goals of the organization This involves analyzing current IT infrastructure and crafting a roadmap for technological advancement

1 Business IT Alignment They ensure that IT projects and systems effectively support business objectives acting as a bridge between business and IT

2 Architecture Design and Development EAs create comprehensive architectural designs that span all levels of the IT infrastructure including data management application services and security protocols

3 Technology Evaluation and Selection They identify and evaluate new technologies that can improve existing systems or provide new opportunities for the organization

4 Governance and Compliance Establishing governance frameworks to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations is a critical part of the role

5 Stakeholder Collaboration EAs work closely with stakeholders including executives and project managers to gather requirements and ensure alignment on various projects.

Qualifications

Education Most enterprise architects have at least a bachelors degree in fields such as information technology computer science or software engineering Some employers may prefer candidates with a masters degree

Experience Typically a minimum of 15 to 20 years of experience in IT is required often in roles such as software engineer or network security specialist
