About the Role
We are seeking a high-performing Merchandising Manager with strong expertise in diamond and studded jewellery categories to drive product strategy, assortment planning, and sales growth for our premium jewellery business. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience from leading jewellery brands and a deep understanding of consumer trends in solitaires, bridal, everyday wear, and fashion-forward studded jewellery .
This role will play a key part in shaping collections, balancing creativity with commercial viability, and ensuring that we deliver the right product mix across all channels.
Key Responsibilities
Merchandise Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute merchandise strategies exclusively for diamond & studded jewellery (studs, rings, solitaires, bridal, designer categories, daily-wear diamonds).
- Define assortment strategy based on consumer insights, sales trends, and competitive benchmarking.
- Manage OTB (Open-to-Buy) and ensure alignment of inventory with sales and margin goals.
Sales Growth & Business KPIs
Drive sales, margin, and sell-through for studded categories.Recommend replenishment, product rationalization, and discontinuation to optimize stock health.Track weekly / monthly category performance and drive corrective actions.Design & Product Development
Collaborate with design and sourcing to develop commercially successful diamond collections aligned with market trends and brand positioning.Ensure balance between core bestsellers and innovation-led launches.Inventory & Supply Chain
Ensure product availability across retail and digital channels by aligning with production, sourcing, and vendor partners.Plan replenishment cycles for high-demand SKUs while introducing fresh collections to fuel newness.Analytics & Market Insights
Analyze consumer buying patterns and preferences for studded jewellery.Conduct competitive benchmarking in diamond price points, styles, and collections .Generate actionable insights from MIS & sales dashboards.Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Lead a team of merchandisers / planners to execute category goals.Work with marketing & retail operations to align campaigns with merchandise drops.Partner with sourcing for timelines, pricing negotiations, and quality adherence.Desired Candidate Profile
6–12 years of proven experience in merchandising for diamonds & studded jewellery (mandatory).Strong track record with reputed jewellery brands like Tanishq, Malabar, Bluestone, Caratlane, Kalyan, Joyalukkas, etc. (diamond / studded verticals).Deep knowledge of consumer trends in solitaires, bridal jewellery, contemporary studded designs, and daily-wear diamonds .Strong commercial and analytical mindset with ability to link merchandise decisions to P&L outcomes.Excellent skills in Excel, analytics, and merchandise planning tools.Team leadership and multi-stakeholder management experience.
