1. Process Safety Assessment and Hazard Analysis
- Conduct hazard analysis of manufacturing processes, including the identification of potential hazards (e.g., chemical, mechanical, electrical).
- Perform risk assessments using methodologies like HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study), FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), and others.
- Assess process conditions and recommend safeguards to mitigate risks and ensure safety.
2. Safety Documentation and Reporting
Maintain and update safety documentation including P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), safety data sheets (SDS), and operating procedures.Prepare safety reports and safety audits for internal and external stakeholders.Support the preparation of safety cases and documentation required for regulatory approvals.3. Training and Awareness Programs
Conduct training sessions for operators, engineers, and safety personnel on process safety topics.Ensure all staff are aware of emergency response protocols and safety standards specific to chemical operations.Organize and lead drills for emergency response (e.g., chemical spill containment, fire drills).B.Tech Chemical Engineering graduate working in Process Safety Management in an API Pharmaceutical Industry plays a crucial role in ensuring that the manufacturing processes are safe, compliant with regulations, and optimized to minimize risks to personnel, equipment, and the environment.
