The Special Projects department at Ashoka University is a pivotal operational unit responsible for the comprehensive management of campus infrastructure and essential services. Our mission is to cultivate a robust and impeccably maintained environment across all university facilities. Key areas under our direct purview include the strategic oversight of Maintenance operations, implementation of stringent Health and Safety protocols, and development of Horticulture services. We seek dedicated professionals to contribute to our continuous efforts in sustaining and enhancing the university's physical landscape.

About the Role : The Deputy Manager – Maintenance (Civil) will be directly responsible for the hands-on supervision and execution of day-to-day civil maintenance work across the Ashoka University campus. This includes routine upkeep of academic buildings, hostels, residences, and common areas. The role requires practical problem-solving, coordination with vendors and contractors, and the ability to quickly address on-ground issues. Experience in housing societies, educational institutions, or large residential complexes will be highly beneficial.

Role and Responsibilities :

Carry out and supervise day-to-day civil maintenance works such as plumbing, masonry, carpentry, painting, and waterproofing.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues on-site with minimal downtime.
Oversee a team of in-house technicians and support staff, ensuring quality and timely execution of work.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repair and maintenance jobs.
Perform regular inspections of hostels, classrooms, residences, and facilities to identify areas requiring repair.
Maintain proper records of daily maintenance activities and report updates to management.
Support preventive maintenance schedules by executing planned work on time.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements during all maintenance activities

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).

8–10 years of experience in civil maintenance, preferably in housing societies, educational institutions, or multi-facility campuses.

Demonstrated ability to handle day-to-day repair and upkeep independently.

Skills Required :

Strong hands-on knowledge of civil maintenance and repair works.

Ability to supervise technicians and guide contractors on-site.

Good problem-solving skills with a focus on quick turnaround solutions.

Basic project and vendor coordination skills.

Working knowledge of MS Office; exposure to AutoCAD or maintenance tracking systems is a plus.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
