AI Engineer – Sprio (AI–Driven Communication Platform)

We are building the next generation of AI-powered communication and automation for WhatsApp, RCS, SMS, and Voice. Sprio is looking for an AI Engineer who can build practical, high-impact AI systems — from chat agents to voice agents to workflow intelligence — that solve real business problems for enterprises.

Role Overview

As an AI Engineer, you will design, develop, and deploy AI-driven features across Sprio’s communication stack. You will work on LLM pipelines, retrieval systems, workflow automation, multimodal agents, and integrations with CRMs and messaging channels. The role requires someone who enjoys building fast, experimenting, shipping, and improving based on real-world usage.

Key Responsibilities

1. AI Agent Development

Build conversational agents for WhatsApp, RCS, SMS, Web chat, and Voice.

Implement agent workflows (goal-oriented, task-driven, contextual memory).

Integrate LLM models with role instructions, tools, API calls, and business logic.

2. LLM & Prompt Engineering

Create prompts, system instructions, and guardrails for stable AI behavior.

Fine-tune or customize models for specific verticals (real estate, logistics, healthcare, finance, etc.).

3. Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

Design and implement document ingestion, embeddings, vector searches.

Build domain-specific knowledge layers for enterprise clients.

4. Workflow Automation & Orchestration

Build n8n / LangChain style workflows for business processes.

Integrate external APIs (CRMs, ERPs, order systems, ticketing platforms).

Create autoscaling and monitoring layers for active agents.

5. Voice AI & Telephony

Work with TTS, STT, call flows, and IVR-style AI automation.

Build pipelines for voice agents that can schedule, remind, convert, or support users.

6. Deployment & Performance

Deploy models and microservices on cloud infrastructure.

Optimize latency, cost, token usage, and concurrency.

Maintain security and compliance for enterprise-grade clients.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Python and at least one of : FastAPI, Flask, Django.
• Hands-on with LLM platforms (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Llama, etc.).
• Knowledge of LangChain / LlamaIndex / vector databases (Pinecone, Qdrant, Chroma).
• Solid understanding of embeddings, tokenization, prompt engineering.
• Experience integrating APIs and building microservices.
• Familiarity with WhatsApp Business API or CPaaS platforms is a plus.
• Experience in Speech AI (STT / TTS) is a bonus.
• Strong debugging skills and ability to solve complex architectural problems.

Nice to Have

Experience building AI chatbots or WhatsApp automation.

Experience with Kubernetes or Docker.

Background in ML Ops.

Knowledge of vector search performance tuning.
