Job DescriptionABOUT TRANSPORT DEPARTMENTThe transport department at DHL Global Forwarding plays a critical role in efficiently moving goods, managing routes, vehicles, drivers, and ensuring compliance with transport regulations. It optimizes operations to reduce costs, improve delivery times, and enhance customer satisfaction by managing vendors, monitoring fleets, implementing efficient routes, and ensuring safety standards. Coordination with other departments is key to seamless logistics operations and meeting business objectives.JOB SUMMARYThe Executive / Sr. Executive / AM / DM in Transport plays a pivotal role in the logistics industry by identifying, developing, and prioritizing initiatives to enhance service quality for DHL customers. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and efficient task execution while ensuring compliance with Customs and other applicable laws.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOperational Excellence- Allocate vehicles according to agreements and follow up on damages or shortages.- Generate monthly saving reports and update the system with Daily Service Reports (DSR).- Verify and process transport v endor bills and assist in Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes.- Maintain records for audit compliance and ensure accurate entry of transport data in the system.- Focus on operational effectiveness by adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.Customer Relationship Management- Understand customer needs, promote company interests.- Coordinate and collaborate for industry benefit, maintain positive relations with external agencies, and facilitate coordination between internal departments.COMPETENCIESFunctional Competencies- Product Knowledge : Comprehensive knowledge on the company's product offerings including inventory management, distribution strategies, and warehousing and how transportation integrates with these products to ensure efficient and seamless delivery.- Technology Integration : Proficiency in processing vendor bills and assisting in RFQ by adhering to Standard Operating Procedures.- Environment Sustainability : Knowledge of sustainable transportation practices and the ability to implement green logistics solutions to reduce environmental impact.- Service Excellence : Striving for excellence in service delivery, continuously seeking ways to enhance customer satisfaction.Behavioural Competencies- Agility : Ability to adapt quickly to changing operational needs and environments.- Continuous Learning : Willingness to learn and improve skills to enhance performance.- Attention to Detail : Consistently maintaining accuracy and precision in tasks and documentation.- Quality Orientation : Commitment to delivering high-quality results and services.- Initiative : Taking proactive steps to improve processes or address issues without waiting for direction.- Team Collaboration : Collaborating across teams for smooth operations.WHO CAN APPLYMust Have- Bachelor's degree required PG degree in sales / marketing preferred.- 3-6 years of customer-facing experience in freight forwarding, shipping, or logistics.- Familiarity with responsibilities as a Customs House Agent (CHA) under the CHALR regulations.- Excellent organizational and communication skills with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency.
