Housekeeping Associate

Role Overview

The Housekeeping Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall appearance of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. The role ensures that guests experience a clean, safe, and welcoming environment, contributing to the overall satisfaction and reputation of the hotel / resort.

Key Responsibilities

Clean, sanitize, and service guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and public areas according to hotel standards.

Replace linens, amenities, and supplies as per established guidelines.

Report maintenance issues, damages, or lost & found items promptly to the supervisor.

Follow proper cleaning procedures and use cleaning equipment / chemicals safely.

Ensure housekeeping trolleys and storage areas are organized and stocked.

Adhere to hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards in line with company policies.

Support laundry operations when required.

Provide courteous and prompt responses to guest requests.

Assist in maintaining housekeeping records such as room status and cleaning checklists.

Uphold the brand standards of the property at all times.

Skills & Competencies

Attention to detail and strong sense of cleanliness.

Time management and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Basic communication skills (reading, writing, and understanding instructions).

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks, bending, lifting, and long hours on feet.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Prior housekeeping or hospitality experience desirable but not mandatory.

Training in cleaning procedures and chemical safety will be an advantage.

Work Conditions

Rotational shifts including weekends and holidays.

Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and physical work.
