Cloud Database Management Role

Overview of the Job :

The company seeks a skilled Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain databases hosted on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

This role involves assisting in provisioning, configuring, and maintaining cloud-hosted databases. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of SQL and relational database concepts, familiarity with at least one cloud platform, and knowledge of database backup and restore fundamentals.

The selected candidate will work closely with DevOps and development teams for database-related needs, ensuring data security, backup, and recovery processes are implemented and adhered to.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring database performance and availability using cloud-native tools, creating users, roles, and permission policies for database access, and troubleshooting basic database issues with guidance from senior DBAs.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Cloud certifications will be an added advantage.

Academic projects or internships involving database management are preferred, along with basic scripting knowledge for automation.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

• Basic understanding of SQL and relational database concepts
• Familiarity with at least one cloud platform (AWS / Azure / GCP)
• Knowledge of database backup, restore, and disaster recovery fundamentals
• Awareness of database security best practices
