The Axial Programme will be powered by S / 4HANA a new ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system which will be implemented right across the organisation and will provide our business with standardised processes, enhanced financial management, common data and real time reporting, transforming the way we work through our entire supply chain - from bench to patient.

The new system will be used by more than 20,000 employees daily, is foundational to all AZ entities and is central to most core business processes. This is a once in a generation programme for AstraZeneca and will shape our ways of working globally for many years to come.

What You'll Do

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Linux & Cloud Operations Engineer to manage and support enterprise-scale Linux systems, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes), and a variety of database environments (RDS & NoSQL).

Candidate will possess strong hands-on expertise in RHEL-based systems including advanced configuration and administration of SAP Pacemaker High Availability Clusters along with a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure services, DevOps automation, and DBaaS platforms.

This role demands a high level of technical competency in ensuring system reliability, performance, availability, and security across hybrid infrastructure. Expertise in automation scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible) and experience with CI / CD, Terraform, and ITSM workflows is essential for success in this position.

Essential For The Role

Linux / Unix System Administration (RHEL, SUSE, CentOS)

• Lead the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of enterprise-grade Linux systems (SAP HANA, RHEL 8 / 9, CentOS, SUSE).
• End-to-end administration of OS environments including Volume, File System user / access management, OS hardening, LVM, NFS, multipathing, and patching.
• Perform proactive system performance tuning, kernel upgrades, log analysis, and security compliance enforcement (CIS / STIG benchmarks).
• Automate OS provisioning and configuration using Ansible, Bash / Shell, Python, or Perl.
