Quality Control Inspector – Job Responsibilities

• Conduct incoming raw material inspection as per PO, drawings, and specifications
• Verify and review Material Test Certificates (MTCs)
• Ensure proper heat number identification and traceability at the time of material receipt
• Perform stage-wise in-process inspection as per approved QAP
• Check machining tolerances, dimensions, and fitment accuracy
• Ensure compliance with API Spec 7K and internal QMS procedures
• Carry out final inspection before dispatch
• Witness and verify load testing, hardness testing, MPI, UT, and other NDT activities
• Ensure correct marking, stamping, and controlled application of API monogram
• Maintain inspection records, ITRs, test reports, and traceability documents
• Raise NCRs for non-conforming products and ensure proper segregation
• Coordinate corrective actions with Production and QA Manager
• Ensure measuring instruments are calibrated and within validity period
• Assist during internal audits, API audits, and third-party inspections
• Ensure proper identification and segregation of monogram and non-monogram products
• Maintain discipline in inspection area and ensure documentation accuracy
• Follow plant safety procedures and quality standards

Qualification – Quality Control Inspector

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
• 3–7 years of experience in oilfield equipment / API product manufacturing
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
• Knowledge of heat treatment processes and material grades
• Familiarity with NDT methods (MPI, UT, Hardness Testing)
• Experience in maintaining material traceability and inspection documentation
• Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 / API Q1 quality systems
• Ability to use measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer etc.)
• Computer proficiency (MS Excel, inspection reports, documentation handling)
