Skills, experience, and qualifications :
Essential :
- The candidate should demonstrate an in-depth level of knowledge and understanding of electronic components & principles
- Develop behavioural and physics-based models of power electronic components (e.g., converters, inverters, filters, magnetics, semiconductors).
- Develop and validate models of automotive power electronic systems including onboard chargers, DC-DC converters, traction inverters, and battery management systems.
- Perform system-level simulations using tools such as MATLAB / Simulink, PLECS, PSIM, LTspice, or equivalent.
- Collaborate with design engineers to validate models against hardware measurements and refine models accordingly.
- Document modelling methodologies, assumptions, and validation results.
- Contribute to design reviews and provide insights based on simulation results.
- Stay updated with the latest modelling techniques, simulation tools, and industry trends.
- Collaborate with hardware and control teams to integrate models into real-time simulation platforms (e.g., dSPACE, OPAL-RT, Typhoon HIL).
- Analyse thermal, electrical, and EMI / EMC behaviour of power systems under automotive operating conditions.
- Support model-based design workflows and contribute to digital twin development for predictive diagnostics and performance optimization.
- Document modelling methodologies, validation procedures, and simulation results for internal and customer-facing reports.
- Stay updated with automotive standards (ISO 26262, ASPICE) and ensure compliance in modelling practices
- Support control algorithm development and integration through co-simulation environments
Desirable :
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.5+ years of experience in modelling and simulation of automotive power electronic systems.Strong proficiency in MATLAB / Simulink, PLECS, PSIM, or similar simulation tools.Solid understanding of automotive power converter topologies and control strategies.Experience with thermal and EMI / EMC modelling in automotive environments.Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN) and embedded systems.Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities, including key performance indicators :
