Job description

Responsibilities

  • Must have experience on Life Admin Systems / Life Insurance, Annuity products
  • Min 8+ years of experience in development of policy administration system (COBOL)
  • Min 8+ years of experience in development / maintenance and Support projects of Mainframe preferably Cobol & DB2.
  • Min 6+ yrs of experience in SQL
  • Must have good knowledge of Policy Administration System design and architecture
  • Must have hand-on experience of Insurance Policy Admin system Migration / Conversion project
  • Must be aware of new technologies and market updates with respect to Life and Annuity business
  • Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and design the proposed IT solution.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations and provide input to information / data flow, and understand and comply to Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning steps.
  • Adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications.
  • Document High Level and Low Level technical specifications.
  • Good communication, problem solving & interpersonal skills
  • Having Life insurance certifications such as LOMA will be added advantage

Skills Technical Skills

  • COBOL / DB2 / VSAM
  • Meetings & Reviews , Reporting & Documentation
  • Very well versed with tools and techniques for efficient project management and reporting.
  • Proficiency in C# programming language, which will be considered an advantage.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Leadership skills
  • Self-Motivated and ability to drive a large group.

    • Education Requirements

  • B.TECH / MCA
  • PMP / ITIL will be preferred

    • Work Experience Requirements :

  • 8yrs – 10yrs of experience in Mainframe Projects preferably in insurance domain.
