Job Description : Accessibility Auditor / Specialist
Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accessibility Auditor / Specialist to ensure that our digital products and content are fully accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. The successful candidate will be an expert in Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and possess hands-on experience utilising various testing tools across diverse content formats. This role is crucial for maintaining compliance with global accessibility standards and fostering an inclusive digital experience.
Key Responsibilities
○ Perform comprehensive accessibility audits on websites, mobile applications, and other digital platforms to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 at all conformance levels (A, AA, and AAA).
○ Conduct manual and automated testing using industry-standard assistive technology and accessibility tools, including but not limited to NVDA, JAWS, Voice Over, and axe.
○ Identify, document, and prioritise accessibility barriers and violations with clear, actionable recommendations for remediation.
○ Perform and oversee the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliance and remediation of various content types :
■ PDFs and documents (e.g., Word, PowerPoint)
■ Images and multimedia assets (including proper alt-text and captions)
○ Audit and remediate accessibility within Learning Management System (LMS) platforms such as Canvas, D2L (Brightspace), or similar educational technologies.
○ Collaborate with development, design, and content teams to integrate accessibility best practices throughout the product lifecycle.
○ Provide technical guidance and training on accessibility standards and testing methodologies.
○ Review wireframes, mockups, and functional specifications to ensure accessibility is baked into the design process.
○ Prepare detailed accessibility conformance reports (ACRs) and Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs).
○ Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving accessibility standards, regulations, and industry trends.
