Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced GCP Cloud Engineer to join our team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will be an expert in designing, implementing, and managing robust infrastructure solutions on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role is for a hands-on engineer who can automate infrastructure using code, optimize systems for performance and cost, and ensure the highest levels of security and reliability in a rotational shift environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Cloud Infrastructure Management :
- Design, implement, and manage end-to-end cloud infrastructure solutions on GCP, covering compute, storage, networking, and security services.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager.
- Oversee the process of implementing new solutions and services with an aim for minimal downtime.
Performance, Security & Reliability :
Proactively monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective mitigation plans to prevent outages.Implement and maintain security best practices within the GCP environment, including access control, encryption, and identity management.Create and own scaling, capacity planning, and configuration management processes.Collaboration & DevOps :
Collaborate with development teams to design and implement cloud-native applications and microservices.Build and manage CI / CD pipelines to enable continuous delivery.Participate in an on-call rotation for incident response and critical issue resolution.Optimization & Documentation :
Optimize infrastructure costs and resource utilization across the GCP environment.Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations and procedures.Contribute to the development of infrastructure standards and best practices.Required Skills :
GCP & Cloud Computing :
Strong experience (6-11 years) as a Cloud Engineer, with deep expertise in the Google Cloud Platform.Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.Proven experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager.Technical Expertise :
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash.Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.Solid understanding of networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, routing, and firewalls.Hands-on experience with Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging.System Administration & DevOps :
Strong experience with Linux system administration.Experience with CI / CD pipelines and version control systems.Soft Skills & Certifications :
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud Network Engineer).Preferred Skills :
Experience migrating applications and services to Google Cloud.Experience with big data and machine learning frameworks on GCP.Experience in a technical leadership role.Experience with security concepts such as encryption, identity management, and access control.(ref : hirist.tech)
