Senior Manager / Director - Operational Excellence :
Onity Group Inc. is hiring visionary, hands-on leaders to drive enterprise-wide Business Transformation and Process Excellence. Reporting to the VP of the Operational Excellence CoE, you’ll shape our process and technology landscape to boost efficiency, customer engagement, and competitiveness.
We seek thinkers and builders—Lean Six Sigma experts who thrive as individual contributors while guiding cross-functional squads. You’ll scan value streams (macro), tackle root causes (micro), and design improvements spanning re-engineering, optimization, and automation (RPA, IDP / OCR, low-code, APIs, analytics, AI / GenAI). From discovery to scale, you’ll lead strategic planning, process design, and automation assessments, translating operational challenges into best-fit technology architectures. By embedding governance, change management, and value tracking, you’ll foster innovation and deliver measurable outcomes—enabling sustainable growth and long-term advantage.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
What you’ll do
- Strategy & Portfolio Leadership : Define and execute a multi-year Operational Excellence strategy aligned with enterprise goals and modern digital architecture. Own the Opex CoE portfolio—intake, prioritization, funding recommendations, and value realization tracking. Establish operating models, guardrails, and KPIs for process redesign, automation, and AI-enabled transformation.
- Diagnose & Design : Lead cross-functional value-stream analyses and data-driven assessments using Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC / DMADV), process mapping, and process mining to identify value, waste, and risk across end-to-end journeys.
- Re-engineer Workflows : Design future-state processes that reduce cost-to-serve, cycle time, and errors while improving CX / EX and control effectiveness; institutionalize standard work, playbooks, and reusable accelerators.
- Enable with Technology : Partner with Enterprise Architecture and Technology teams to select best-fit solutions—workflow / BPM, RPA, OCR / IDP, low-code, APIs, analytics, and GenAI. Maintain a living reference architecture and ensure solutions meet NFRs for performance, resiliency, observability, and cost.
- AI, Automation & Emerging Tech : Identify, incubate, and scale AI and automation use cases with clear business outcomes. Run discovery on automatability, data readiness, and compliance; define success metrics and scale-up criteria. Drive enterprise education through showcases, hackathons, and pragmatic AI adoption coaching.
- Deliver Outcomes : Own delivery end-to-end—from intake and business case through pilot, change management, training, adoption, and benefit realization tracking.
- Stakeholder Management & Change : Act as the primary interface between Business Units and Technology, aligning needs, resolving constraints, and sequencing delivery. Foster a culture of innovation and enable change adoption across the enterprise.
- Governance & Compliance : Implement governance for automation and AI lifecycle; ensure regulatory, security, and data-privacy compliance. Publish portfolio reviews and benefit realization reports.
- Lead Without Title : Operate as a senior IC—coaching Green / Black Belts, convening cross-functional teams, and influencing stakeholders to remove blockers and land change.
- People Leadership : Build and lead a high-performing team of process architects, Black Belts, automation / AI product owners, and business analysts.
What you’ll bring
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (Master Black Belt preferred); demonstrable, hands‑on use of DMAIC / DMADV and value‑stream design. (Green Belt minimum for Sr. Manager; Black Belt preferred / required for Director.) IC track record delivering complex cross‑functional improvements while mentoring teams (no heavy people management required).Proven deployments across process re‑engineering, process optimization, and automation / AI (e.g., RPA, OCR / IDP, workflow / BPM, APIs, analytics, GenAI).Data fluency with Minitab / Excel or similar; strong business casing, KPI design, and benefits tracking.Ability to zoom macro (portfolio themes, value streams) and micro (root cause, control plans), translating operational pain into scalable, supportable solutions.Domain : Financial services / lending / mortgage exposure is a strong plus.Benefits that you will see.
