Role Overview :
The OCI Lead (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect) will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The role involves working closely with cross-functional teamsincluding infrastructure, application development, security, and DevOpsto design robust cloud architectures, streamline migrations, and optimize existing OCI environments for performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and implement enterprise-grade cloud solutions leveraging OCI services (Compute, Networking, Storage, Database, Security, and IAM).
- Define and document architecture blueprints, standards, and patterns for OCI environments.
- Develop highly available and disaster-resilient architectures using OCI native capabilities such as DRG, FastConnect, Load Balancers, and Object Storage replication.
- Collaborate with application and database teams to design cloud-native, scalable solutions.
- Plan and execute cloud migration strategies for on-premises and hybrid environments to OCI.
- Lead end-to-end OCI environment provisioning, configuration, and deployment.
- Automate provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, or OCI Resource Manager. Perform migration assessments, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and workload testing.
- Implement and enforce OCI Security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, key management, and network security controls.
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks using policies, compartments, tagging strategies, and quotas.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC2, or other regulatory standards.
- Integrate OCI security tools (Cloud Guard, Security Zones, Vault, etc.) into enterprise workflows.
- Continuously monitor OCI environments for performance, availability, and cost.
- Use tools like OCI Monitoring, Logging, Application Performance Monitoring (APM), and Operations Insights to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Recommend and implement cost optimization techniques (e.g., autoscaling, reserved instances, storage tiering).
- Maintain visibility into billing and resource utilization across multiple compartments and tenancies.
- Integrate OCI solutions with CI / CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
- Drive automation of infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployments through Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to enable seamless continuous integration and delivery.
- Serve as the OCI Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the organization.
- Mentor and guide technical teams on OCI best practices and architectural standards.
- Collaborate with Oracle and third-party vendors for technical escalations and solution enhancements.
- Participate in architecture review boards and contribute to overall cloud strategy.
Required Skills & Experience :
