About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, and DB2 environments . The ideal candidate will design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe-based business applications, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to modernize and optimize existing mainframe systems.

️ Key Responsibilities :

Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and DB2 .

Perform coding, testing, debugging, and performance tuning of mainframe programs.

Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions .

Maintain and enhance batch and online processing systems .

Work on production support , defect analysis, and issue resolution.

Create and maintain technical documentation and system flow diagrams.

Collaborate with QA, system analysts, and other developers to ensure smooth delivery.

Participate in code reviews , ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

✅ Required Skills & Experience :

3–8 years of hands-on experience in Mainframe application development .

Strong programming experience in COBOL , JCL , and DB2 .

Good understanding of VSAM files, CICS, and batch / online systems .

Proficiency in SQL and DB2 database programming .

Experience in performance optimization, debugging, and production support .

Familiarity with change management and version control tools (Endevor, Changeman, etc.).

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Good to Have :

Experience in mainframe modernization or migration projects .

Knowledge of Rexx, Easytrieve, or File-Aid .

Exposure to Agile methodologies .

Experience in banking, insurance, or financial services domains is a plus.
