Manual Test Engineer - STLC Process

Roles & Responsibilities :

• Review and analyze system specifications and requirements.
• Design, develop, and execute manual test cases.
• Identify, document, and track defects using bug-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Ensure software quality through thorough testing processes.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to resolve issues.
• Prepare test reports and maintain proper Skills :
• Strong knowledge of STLC, SDLC, and defect life cycle.
• Hands-on experience in writing and executing test cases, test scenarios, and test plans.
• Familiarity with bug-tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla, Mantis, or similar).
• Good understanding of functional, regression, smoke, and sanity testing.
• Knowledge of database / SQL queries for data validation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation to Have :
• Exposure to API testing (Postman, Swagger).
• Knowledge of automation tools (Selenium, JUnit, TestNG) is an added advantage.
• Experience with Agile / Scrum methodology.
