Software Systems Engineer III

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Devops Engineer in Intelligence Exchange Operations team. This team is responsible for the implementation, and support of the IX platform and other application which uses the platform. You will be responsible for migrating the application to cloud (AWS / GCP) involving automation of multiple deployments using Terraform / Cloudformation for IAC. You'll participate in the implementation of new infrastructure (distributed, scalable, and robust) and develop features to make it observable and configurable on-demand. This role requires close partnership and collaboration with other Customer teams, Cloud Architects, Engineers and Subject Matter Experts.

Note : This position requires participation in an on-call rotation approximately once per month. Each on-call shift is 12 hours in duration and may include nights, weekends, or holidays.

Duties & Responsibilities

• An individual with a deep passion for innovation and performance, to work in the DevOps / SRE team
• Evaluate cloud services and architecture to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
• Lead the design, development, and evolution of cloud infrastructure
• Serve as a subject matter expert in cloud infrastructure, performing design reviews to ensure design best practices
• Work with the development team to deploy and manage tools that support SDLC automation, configuration management, and release management
• Implement automation tools and frameworks for automatic code deployment (CI / CD)
• Implement effective monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code
• Implement industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management
• Responsible for setting up and creating GCP deployments, administration, Operations, and maintenance
• Establish or follow prioritization processes to drive work with a sense of urgency about getting work completed
• Consult with stakeholders to specify requirements and solutions which address business challenges and opportunities
• Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery processes
• Have on-call responsibilities in rotation with the engineering team
• Should be able to drive root cause analysis for production issues and continually evaluate and improve our processes and application standards
