About the role

The AVP – Data Analytics & Collections Strategy will lead the analytical and strategic initiatives that drive the performance and effectiveness of Pepper Advantage’s collections operations. The incumbent will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving data-driven strategies, segmentation models, and performance frameworks that enable superior recoveries, cost efficiency, and client satisfaction.

This is a strategic leadership role requiring strong analytical acumen, hands-on technical skills, and a deep understanding of collections dynamics across retail loan portfolios.

Main Responsibilities

1. Strategy Development & Optimization

  • Design, implement, and refine collections strategies across delinquency buckets (early, mid, late, and write-off).
  • Build data segmentation and prioritization frameworks for tele-calling, field collections, and digital engagement.
  • Identify and drive strategy levers to improve roll-rate, cure-rate, and overall recovery performance.

2. Data Analytics & Insights

  • Develop and deploy predictive models and scorecards to assess borrower behavior and repayment propensity.
  • Conduct portfolio performance analytics, trend analysis, and benchmarking for client portfolios.
  • Partner with business teams to translate data insights into actionable collection initiatives.
  • 3. Reporting & Performance Management

  • Develop and automate management dashboards and MIS reports to track key metrics (e.g., recovery rates, productivity, promise-to-pay, RPCs, and field effectiveness).
  • Present analytical insights and recommendations to senior leadership and client stakeholders.
  • 4. Technology & Digital Enablement

  • Work closely with technology teams to enable data integration, visualization, and advanced analytics tools.
  • Leverage AI / ML-based insights, digital contact strategies, and omnichannel analytics to optimize performance.
  • 5. Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with internal policies, client SLAs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish quality assurance and control mechanisms for analytical outputs and reporting.
  • Your skills

  • Education :
  • Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Management from a recognized institution.
  • Advanced certification in Data Analytics, Machine Learning, or Business Intelligence preferred.
  • Experience :
  • Minimum 8–12 years of experience in collections analytics, credit risk strategy, or portfolio management within BFSI, fintech, or debt management domains.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing data-led collections strategies.
  • Exposure to retail loan products such as personal loans, credit cards, two-wheeler loans, consumer durables, and housing loans.
  • Technical Skills :
  • Strong command of SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent analytical tools.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, visualization, and automation platforms.
  • Behavioural Competencies :

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

  • Accuracy and timeliness of portfolio analytics and reporting.
