Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Integration Engineer – AX / AIF Specialist to join our AI Solutions Delivery team . This role will focus on Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Application Integration Framework (AIF) implementations, ensuring seamless integrations between Sutra AI’s platform, customer ERP systems, and third-party applications.

Your work will directly influence Time-to-Value (TTV) and overall customer success outcomes .

Key Responsibilities

1. Primary Integration Development (40%)

  • Design, develop, and implement AIF-based integrations between AX 2009 and external systems (AI platforms, POS, 3rd-party apps).
  • Configure and customize AIF document services (Customer, Sales Order, Inventory) and build custom services when needed.
  • Implement both synchronous (web service) and asynchronous (file-based, MSMQ) integration patterns.
  • Create transformation pipelines for complex data mapping and logic.
  • Optimize integration performance (bulk processing, caching, query optimization).

    • 2. Technical Implementation (25%)

  • Configure AIF infrastructure (endpoints, channels, transport adapters, batch jobs).
  • Implement secure integration with authentication / authorization.
  • Develop custom X++ code for business logic and validation.
  • Build reusable integration components and frameworks.
  • Ensure resilient integrations with retry logic, error handling, and circuit breaker patterns.

    • 3. Customer Project Delivery (20%)

  • Collaborate with Solution Architects to translate requirements into integration specs.
  • Lead technical workshops with customer teams.
  • Support Agile / sprint delivery methodology, aligning milestones with project timelines.
  • Work directly with customers during implementation and go-live.
  • Provide technical expertise during presales scoping.

    • 4. Testing & Quality Assurance (10%)

  • Develop and execute test cases (positive, negative, edge scenarios).
  • Conduct unit, integration, UAT, and performance testing.
  • Validate data integrity and accuracy.
  • Leverage automated testing tools (SoapUI, Postman).

    • 5. Documentation & Support (5%)

  • Prepare integration specs, API docs, deployment guides, and runbooks.
  • Provide troubleshooting documentation and support knowledge transfer.
  • Maintain architecture diagrams and best practices.

    • Required Technical Skills

    Core AX / AIF Expertise

  • 3+ years of hands-on AX 2009 AIF development / configuration.
  • Strong understanding of AIF service layer and transformation pipelines.
  • Proficiency in X++ customizations.
  • Experience with synchronous (WCF / SOAP) and asynchronous (File / MSMQ) integrations.
  • Knowledge of AX security and RBAC.

    • Integration Technologies

  • Web Services : SOAP, REST, WCF, XML, XSD, WSDL.
  • Protocols : HTTP / HTTPS, FTP / SFTP, MSMQ.
  • Tools : SoapUI, Postman, Fiddler, Visual Studio.
  • Scripting : PowerShell, C# / .NET.

    • Development & Data Management

  • Strong SQL and query optimization.
  • Experience with ETL concepts, data mapping, cleansing, and transformation.
  • Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns (EIP).
  • Batch processing and job scheduling.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft BizTalk Server, MuleSoft, or Azure Logic Apps.
  • Familiarity with AI / ML integration patterns and API consumption.
  • Cloud integration (Azure, AWS) and PowerBI / reporting integration.
  • ERP exposure beyond AX (D365, SAP, Oracle).
  • Industry experience in restaurant, retail, manufacturing, or supply chain integrations.
  • Certifications : Dynamics, Azure Integration, MuleSoft Developer (nice to have).

  • Excellent verbal & written communication.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts in business terms.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving mindset.
  • Agile / sprint delivery experience.
  • Customer-focused with professionalism under pressure.
  • Strong collaboration across cross-functional teams.

    • Education & Experience

  • Minimum : Bachelor’s degree in CS / IT / Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Preferred : Master’s degree or relevant certifications.
  • 3–5 years of integration experience (2+ years in AX AIF).
  • Track record of delivering enterprise integrations.

    • Performance Metrics & KPIs

  • On-time delivery of integration milestones.
  • Integration development velocity and quality.
  • System uptime, reliability, and performance benchmarks.
  • Customer satisfaction (CSAT) and successful go-lives.
  • Contribution to reusable components, documentation, and best practices.

    • Work Environment & Conditions

  • Location : Remote (Bhopal preferred).
  • Arrangement : Hybrid flexibility;

    • occasional on-call support.

  • Team Structure : Work in delivery pods with Solution Architects, AI / ML Specialists, and Customer Success Engineers.
  • Collaboration : Cross-time-zone and global team environment.
