Health & Safety Officer – GKB Hitech Lenses Pvt. Ltd.

📍 Location : Goa

As we continue to scale multi-plant operations with advanced technologies and cleanroom environments, we are seeking a Health & Safety Officer who can champion EHS excellence — ensuring statutory compliance, proactive risk mitigation, and a safe workplace for all.

🔑 What You’ll Lead

JOB OBJECTIVES

To develop, implement and monitor EHS program ensuring statutory compliance, safe working conditions, and proactively safety culture across plant operations.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Risk Assessment & Hazard Prevention

  • Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA), HIRA and implement controls for chemicals handling, surfacing / finishing operations, AR coating machines, boilers, DGs and utility systems.
  • Ensure proper installation and function of safety devices, ventilation, fire detection and emergency alarms.
  • Overseeing the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous substances and waste.

Safety Management & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Factories Act, State Factory Rules, Environmental laws, and other statutory EHS requirements.
  • Maintain mandatory statutory records, and safety registers.
  • Assist in obtaining statutory approvals and renewals (Fire NOC, etc.)
  • Ensure availability, usage & maintenance of PPE
  • Training & Awareness

  • Plan and Deliver EHS training (Induction, chemical handling, PPE usage, machine safety, ergonomics, first aid)
  • Promote safety culture, safety campaigns and notices.
  • Fire Safety & Emergency Preparedness

  • Oversees maintenance of fire hydrants, extinguishers and emergency exit routes.
  • Conduct fire drills and update emergency response plans with trained floor coordinators
  • Audits & Corrective Actions

  • Conduct internal safety audits, walkthroughs and ensure closure of CAPA.
  • Incident Investigation

  • Lead investigation of unsafe acts, accidents, and near miss incidents.
  • Identify root causes and drive preventive & corrective actions.
  • Environmental

  • Monitor waste disposal, chemical storage, ventilation systems, water usage & compliance to PCB norms.
  • Coordinate with vendors for hazardous waste management.
  • EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION’S

    Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field like engineering, occupational health and safety, or environmental science, along with relevant experience and certifications
  • Years and Nature of Experience

  • 5 to 8 years , in the similar field specially in manufacturing company.
  • Candidates must possess strong proficiency in the local language to effectively liaise with Local and Government authorities.
