Position Overview
The Head – Placements will be responsible for strategizing, developing, and managing the entire campus placement process for undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students. The role involves building strong industry linkages, driving student career preparedness initiatives, and positioning the University as a preferred talent destination for leading corporates and recruiters.
Key Responsibilities
Placement Strategy & Leadership
- Design and implement the overall campus placement strategy aligned with the University’s vision.
- Establish year-on-year targets for student placements and ensure achievement.
- Develop innovative models for industry engagement, internships, and recruitment drives.
Corporate Relations & Employer Engagement
Build and nurture relationships with top corporates, MNCs, start-ups, and PSUs for placement opportunities.Expand recruiter network across sectors including technology, manufacturing, consulting, and emerging industries.Act as the University’s ambassador for corporate partnerships, ensuring long-term engagement.Student Career Development
Guide, mentor, and prepare students for placement readiness (CV writing, interview skills, aptitude, and soft skills).Coordinate training programs, workshops, and industry interaction sessions to enhance employability.Track student aspirations and align placement opportunities with their career goals.Operational Management
Plan and execute campus recruitment drives, job fairs, and industry networking events.Ensure smooth coordination between recruiters, faculty, and students.Maintain accurate records, placement statistics, and dashboards for internal and external reporting.Team Leadership
Lead, motivate, and develop the placement cell team.Collaborate with faculty and academic leadership to integrate industry requirements into the curriculum.Desired Candidate Profile
Postgraduate in Management / Engineering / related field (MBA preferred).12+ years of experience in corporate relations / placements, preferably in higher education or corporate HR / talent acquisition.Strong network with corporates, industry bodies, and recruitment agencies.Proven track record of driving large-scale placements and employer branding initiatives.Excellent communication, networking, and stakeholder management skills.Strategic thinker with the ability to lead a high-performance team.
