About the Role :
We are looking for an experienced Lead SDET to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will take ownership of end-to-end testing processes including test planning, automation strategy, execution, and delivery. You'll lead a team of SDETs and collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and product teams to ensure high product quality and seamless releases in CI / CD environments.
Key Responsibilities :
- Analyze requirements and collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand and refine testable user stories.
- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for functional, regression, integration, and system-level testing.
- Own and drive API testing strategies using tools like Postman, Swagger, and REST Assured.
- Lead the implementation of automation frameworks using Python, Pytest, Robot Framework, and maintain scalable test automation suites.
- Integrate automated tests into CI / CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
- Manage test documentation and progress tracking using tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Troubleshoot and debug test failures, identify root causes, and work with developers for resolution.
- Mentor junior SDETs and guide them in automation best practices and scripting.
- Ensure consistent testing standards and practices across the team.
- Collaborate on product releases, ensuring smooth QA handoffs and deployments.
- Participate in performance and security testing efforts when needed.
Must-Have Skills :
Strong ability to understand and convert requirements into effective test cases (manual and automated).Proficiency in Python with experience in Pytest, Robot Framework, and custom test scripting.Experience in API testing (REST, JSON), using Postman, writing automation scripts for API endpoints.Working knowledge of CI / CD tools like Jenkins for continuous testing and integration.Hands-on experience in setting up and maintaining automation test frameworks.Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across applications and platforms.Exposure to Jira, Confluence, and version control systems like Git.(ref : hirist.tech)
