Job Title : IP Counsel | Location : Hybrid (Blr)| Function : Legal, IP & Strategy

About the Role :
Ultrahuman is seeking an experienced IP Counsel to lead patent and IP strategy across wearables, sensors, algorithms, and health tech. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of deep tech, innovation protection, and IP development. You will help shape Ultrahumans global IP posture-securing our invention pipeline, enabling smart filings, and partnering with external counsel on complex IP initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
Patent Analysis & Strategy :
- Evaluate Ultrahuman's patents and invention disclosures across science, hardware, firmware, system architecture, and algorithms.
- Interpret and map patent claims to align with product and business strategy.
- Assess third-party IP for clearance, design-around options, or invalidity positions.
Claim Charting & Evidence Mapping :
Develop detailed claim charts for internal analysis and external enforcement or defense.Work with engineering teams to gather technical data, prior art, and evidence of use.Patent Drafting & Global Prosecution :
Collaborate with inventors and external counsel to draft and prosecute patents in key jurisdictions.Oversee filings, manage responses to office actions, and ensure continuity of rights globally.IP Disputes & External Counsel Support :
Support cross-border IP matters, including pre-litigation analysis, enforcement strategy, and procedural coordination.Help build legal arguments, manage technical exhibits, and guide litigation communications.Internal Advisory & IP Operations :
Advise product and R&D teams on FTO, IP clearance, and patentability.Contribute to internal IP policies, invention harvesting, and investor-facing Law degree and bar registration; LLM or IP specialization preferred.5-10 years in patent law (prosecution + disputes); experience in health tech or consumer electronics preferred.Proven expertise in patent drafting and claim interpretation.Claim charting experience is a must.Familiarity with US, EP, and Indian patent systems; strong understanding of global IP workflows.Technical fluency in electronics, sensors, signal processing, or embedded systems.Excellent writing, communication, and document precision skills.Strong strategic instincts; able to operate independently in fast-moving environments.Bonus Skills :
Experience with PTAB, EPO opposition, or pre-litigation IP enforcement.
Prior work with startups or high-growth tech companies.
