Experience Required :
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in fleet maintenance, garage operations, or a similar leadership role.
Demonstrated experience with preventive maintenance programs and fleet management software.

Roles & Responsibilities :
- 1) Fleet Maintenance Management
- Plan, schedule, and supervise routine and preventive maintenance for all company vehicles.
- Ensure timely servicing, repairs, and inspections to minimize downtime and maintain roadworthiness.
- Maintain comprehensive maintenance records and service histories for all vehicles.
- Monitor vehicle conditions, identify potential mechanical issues early, and coordinate proactive interventions.
- Coordinate with Procurement for specialized repairs and parts; oversee internal movement of vehicles to optimize flow and efficiency.
2) Team Leadership & Supervision
Lead, mentor, and manage mechanics, technicians, and garage staff.Assign daily tasks, monitor productivity, and balance workload across the team.Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support skill development.Ensure adherence to work schedules, attendance, safety protocols, and quality standards.3) Safety & Compliance
Ensure all vehicles meet roadworthiness and regulatory requirements.Maintain proper documentation for vehicle inspections, certifications, and compliance.Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective measures.Ensure proper use and maintenance of garage equipment and tools.4) Inventory & Parts Management
Monitor spare parts inventory levels and prevent stockouts.Approve requisitions for tools, equipment, and spare parts.Control costs related to maintenance, repairs, and consumables.Implement quality control measures for parts and materials used.Liaise with procurement for timely delivery of critical components5) Operational Reporting & Quality Control
Generate weekly and monthly reports on garage operations.Track KPIs including vehicle availability, repair turnaround times, and maintenance costs per vehicle.Investigate and report vehicle breakdowns and accidents; document root causes and corrective actions.Recommend and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency.Maintain documentation for audits and management reviews.Desired Skills and Competencies
Strong leadership and people-management skills; ability to coach and develop a diverse team.Excellent organizational and task-management abilities; adept at prioritizing under pressure.Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret maintenance data, KPIs, and cost trends.Sound knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, common mechanical systems, and safety regulations.Effective communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders (procurement, operations, safety, finance).Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and fleet tracking tools; strong MS Office skills.Performance Metrics / Success Indicators :
