We are seeking a Software Engineer specializing in industrial control systems software development. This role focuses on developing critical software solutions for electrical power control systems, with a particular emphasis on industrial object-oriented programming principles, UI design, and database management. The ideal candidate will have experience in the domain of electrical power systems control, with a strong preference for experience in microgrid control systems or automatic transfer control systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams responsible for system design, testing, and field implementation while focusing on software development to create effective, user-friendly interfaces and robust power system control function block libraries.
Role & responsibilities
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain software for industrial control systems, including automatic transfer schemes, generator paralleling switchgear, and microgrid control systems.
- Use CodeSys and other IEC 61131-3 industrial automation software tools (e.g., Schneider Electric Control Expert, Rockwell Studio 5000) to develop and manage power system control applications and code libraries.
- Design and implement user interfaces (UIs) based upon Company's standards to allow operators to efficiently monitor and control complex power systems.
- Implement and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP, Ethernet / IP, and OPC UA.
- Collaborate with systems engineers to ensure seamless integration between software, UI, and hardware.
- Ensure all software solutions meet regulatory and safety standards and align with company quality requirements
Mandatory :
5+ years of experience in UI designing for industrial control, electrical power systems, or automation systems.Strong scripting knowledge using VBscript or Python.Good UX sense for operator interface - Visual Designer controls (HMI UI controls)Designing and maintaining SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.Familiar with SCADA software : Wonderware, Ignition, WinCC, GE iFIX, etc.Proficiency with industrial communication protocols (Modbus TCP, Ethernet / IP, OPC UA).Good to have :
Experience with microgrid control systems or automatic transfer control systems.Experience with database design and management for industrial applications.Experience in programming for PLCs and control systems with CodeSys, Schneider Electric Control Expert, and / or Rockwell Studio 5000.Familiarity with power control systems such as transfer schemes, generator paralleling, or microgrids.Familiarity with regulatory compliance and safety standards in the power industry.Knowledge of additional industrial protocols and standards.Familiarity with industrial network design.
