The Role :

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will bring technical excellence and leadership to guide a cross-functional squad to design, build, and deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and ensure that JoVEs products remain at the forefront of innovation in the EdTech and STEM research space.

• Lead and mentor engineers within your squad to deliver high quality engineering solutions.
• Drive the design and development of scalable, data-driven architectures, including APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Ensure code quality and maintainability through adherence to software engineering principles (SOLID, DRY, SaaS multi-tenancy).
• Partner with Product Managers, UX Designers, and other stakeholders to deliver features and initiatives that meet customer needs.
• Champion Agile / Scrum practices, ensuring the squad is efficient, predictable, and continuously improving.
• Triage and resolve incidents, leading root cause investigations and implementing long-term fixes.
• Collaborate on cloud-native solutions (AWS serverless or container-based) to ensure scalability, security, and performance at production scale.
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies and propose solutions that enhance JoVEs technical stack and product offerings.
