Backend Engineering Lead

Location : Kochi / Bangalore (initially in Kochi)

Role Summary

We are looking for a Backend Engineering Lead with deep expertise in Spring Boot and Microservices to

architect, build, and scale enterprise-grade backend systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience

in containerization (Docker / Kubernetes), API development, and system performance tuning in cloud-native

environments.

Key Responsibilities

 Lead the development of scalable backend systems using Spring Boot and Java

 Design and implement RESTful APIs and Microservices architecture

 Ensure robust API security, authentication, rate-limiting, and versioning

 Implement containerized services using Docker, deploy and orchestrate with Kubernetes

 Collaborate with DevOps and cloud teams to ensure CI / CD, monitoring, and high availability

 Optimize backend performance, latency, and reliability

 Guide and mentor backend engineers; enforce code quality and design standards

 Work closely with frontend, product, and QA teams for full lifecycle delivery

Required Skills & Experience

 8+ years of experience in backend development

 Expert in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices

 Familiarity in Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration

 Experience with any one Orchestration / workflow / ESB tools (TIBCO BW, Camunda will be preferred)

 Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP

 Strong knowledge of SQL / NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)

 Familiar with CI / CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)

 Solid understanding of asynchronous messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus

 Strong problem-solving, design thinking, and leadership skills

 Good Understanding of Code Quality and Standards.

Nice To Have

 Exposure to API gateways, rate-limiting, and OpenAPI / Swagger

 Experience with caching strategies (Redis, Hazelcast)

 Knowledge of observability tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana)
