Head Motor Underwriting (Vice President)

We are seeking a seasoned leader to head Motor Underwriting with responsibility for strategy, portfolio management, and technical excellence across retail, commercial, and fleet segments. The role will drive profitable growth by designing robust underwriting frameworks, pricing models, and risk selection guidelines, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. As the final referral authority for complex risks, the incumbent will collaborate with actuarial, reinsurance, and capital management teams to optimize pricing, reinsurance structures, and portfolio performance, while embedding strong governance and quality assurance practices.

In addition, the role will spearhead innovation in Motor products, introducing solutions such as usage-based insurance, telematics, and automated underwriting systems aligned with evolving customer needs and market trends. Success will require a combination of deep technical expertise, data-driven decision-making, and strategic foresight, coupled with the ability to lead and mentor high-performing teams. The ideal candidate will balance growth with disciplined risk management, ensuring underwriting practices strengthen both profitability and customer experience in a competitive digital insurance landscape.
