Garments Production Manager oversees the entire garment manufacturing process, from order receipt to final shipment, ensuring products are made on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. Key responsibilities include production planning and scheduling, resource management, quality control and assurance, cost management, staff supervision and training, coordination with other departments and external vendors, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
Production & Operations Management
Planning & Scheduling :
Develop and manage production schedules, determine the human and material resources needed, and create realistic timelines for completion.
Monitoring :
Oversee daily production, monitor progress, and adjust schedules as needed to meet targets and deadlines.
Process Improvement :
Implement lean manufacturing techniques and process optimizations to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Resource Allocation :
Optimize the use of manpower, machinery, and materials to maximize output.
Quality & Compliance
Quality Control :
Establish and enforce quality standards throughout the production stages, from incoming materials to the finished product.
Compliance :
Ensure all operations adhere to industry standards, regulations, and health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Auditing :
Audit samples and bulk production to ensure specifications are met and to identify and solve any arising issues.
Team & Departmental Leadership
Staff Supervision :
Lead, train, motivate, and evaluate production staff and supervisors, fostering a productive team environment.
Cross-Departmental Coordination :
Work closely with design, procurement, sales, and merchandising teams to ensure smooth workflow and address any production-related challenges.
Vendor Management :
Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and job work providers to source materials and ensure consistent quality of outsourced processes like printing or embroidery.
Financial & Strategic Responsibilities
Budget Management :
Develop and manage operational budgets, estimate expenditures, and implement cost-cutting measures.
Inventory & Supply Chain :
Oversee inventory management and supply chain logistics to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods.
Reporting :
Maintain production records and prepare reports for management, detailing production status, performance, and areas for improvement.
