Key Responsibilities
Nursing Staff Management
- Develop and manage staffing plans, shift schedules, and coverage strategies based on patient acuity, workload forecasting, and regulatory nurse-to-patient ratios.
- Supervise, mentor, evaluate, and support the professional development of ICU nurses, charge nurses, and clinical coordinators.
- Identify skill gaps and lead regular competency assessments and training programs in ACLS, BLS, ventilator management, CRRT, sedation scoring, and emergency response.
- Foster a high-performance, inclusive, and resilient nursing workforce through recognition, feedback, and career progression pathways.
Quality & Patient Safety
- Lead and drive quality improvement initiatives focused on reducing ICU-specific adverse events, including infections, falls, medication errors, and pressure injuries.
- Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as ICU length of stay, mortality rates, readmission rates, and incident reporting trends.
- Ensure timely investigation, root cause analysis, and closure of all adverse events, near misses, and safety incidents in accordance with hospital policy.
- Support internal audits, external accreditation (NABH/JCI), and compliance reviews with a focus on nursing documentation, care delivery, and risk management.
Policy, SOP & Compliance
- Develop, review, update, and implement standardized operating procedures (SOPs), clinical guidelines, and nursing policies tailored to ICU settings.
- Ensure full compliance with national healthcare regulations, ethical standards, hospital bylaws, and accreditation requirements.
- Lead the onboarding, credentialing, and competency validation of new ICU nursing staff, including orientation to technology platforms like RADAR.

Requirements
Education
- B.Sc Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing (Mandatory)
- M.Sc Nursing in Critical Care or Medical-Surgical Nursing (Preferred)
Experience
- Minimum 2–12 years of progressive nursing experience in critical care settings
- At least 2 years of hands-on clinical experience in ICU (MICU/SICU/NICU/PICU)
- 2–3 years of demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in ICU nursing management
- Experience working in high-acuity environments with exposure to complex patient populations and technology-driven care systems is highly preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage high-performing nursing teams in fast-paced, high-stress environments
- Expertise in ICU clinical protocols, care bundles, and quality improvement methodologies
- Strong understanding of accreditation standards (NABH, JCI) and regulatory compliance frameworks
